I work with individuals who may be current or former athletes. I also work with people who are navigating life after getting diagnosed with a chronic condition and those who’ve had them for years. I help teach them how to handle the stressors of dealing with any form of change, the transition to it and how to adapt to them.

I work with them building their self-confidence back up, drive motivation, energy levels, emotional agility, relaxation, and mental toughness. I sound like a coach or athlete, right? Remember I was both, a basketball coach and former professional athlete. These were all the things that helped my team and myself continue to be the best while not even knowing I had RA or MS. These are things you need to do when you are handling anything in life so that you can keep pushing through. You can’t handle any challenge if you’re failing in any of these core areas. You must be able to learn how to handle adversity and that is what I help people with. Simply put!

I work with a wide range of individuals who are often faced with depression, stress, anxiety, self-harm, relationship issues, and addiction. The goal of the client is to develop a healthier mental state to be better able to handle psycho-social stressors, by learning coping strategies which will enable them to handle current and future challenges they may face.

My counseling approach is primarily client-centered in which the client does most of the talking the therapist provides a warm, safe and compassionate environment conducive to personal growth. Other techniques used include Gestalt, REBT, Mindfulness, and Psycho-education.

I realize that each client has different needs, therefore I may have to use an eclectic approach, as a therapist, I believe in meeting my clients where they are at whether they are dealing with the here and now, or past stressors. I am caring and compassionate and do not believe in stigmatizing or putting labels on my clients.
